Dear Pillar Moms,

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year!  Looking at the calendar, you can see the year is filled with fun events for our kids and families, and it presents many opportunities for you to be a part of the wonderful traditions of Our Lady of the Pillar.

Pillar is a small school, with many meaningful traditions, but that does not mean that we are opposed to growth and change.  This year, we are taking a new approach with our major fundraising event for the school in the fall, OLP Casino Night.  This event promises to be great fun as we join forces with the Men’s Club to host an evening of festivities including dinner, gaming and an auction to raise funds for all of the fabulous events Mothers’ Club and Men’s Club sponsor.

Mothers’ Club is an incredible network of women working together to organize over 20 social events during the school year, serve more than 4,000 people at our special events, and coordinate four ongoing fundraisers to benefit our children, the faculty and staff, and our parish community.  All of this is accomplished through the hard work of women who generously volunteer their time and talent at our school.

By working in the Learning Center, serving in the cafeteria, or taking part in an all-school mass, your child has the chance to see your reassuring smile, and you have the opportunity to see your child grow in faith and knowledge.  I hope you find, as I have in the past eight years, that volunteering your time and participating in the Mothers’ Club  is lots of fun, often challenging, and always a great way to meet new people and make long-lasting friendships.  

The Mothers’ Club is here to support our children, our school, and each other.  Please be involved in as little or as much as your schedule allows.  Our Lady of the Pillar is a very special place, and I invite you to be a part of the tradition.
