"The Emperor’s New Clothes” was performed before students in kindergarten through fourth grade. This performance was about con men who plot to sell new clothes to a vain emperor. The men pretend their invisible “magic clothes” can be seen only by the wise and worthy. The energetic, performers comic tale provided an insight into responsibility and independent thinking. Lots of opportunities for audience participation were included. When asked about the play. A couple of the fourth grade girls said, “It was good. I really liked it! There were a lot of characters with good costumes. I really liked the clothes, and the play was very funny!”
The fifth through eighth grade enjoyed “The 45- Minute Macbeth” on February 1. The play was about a sinister prophecy, which ignites Macbeth’s raging ambition for the throne. Driven by his ruthless wife and his lust for power, Macbeth unleashes treachery, disruption and madness. This condensed version of the classic tragedy provided a thrilling introduction to Shakespeare. The MacBeth play was very entertaining, and interesting. In the play there is 21 characters, but only three performers, Rachel, Aaron and John. Macbeth was played by Aaron, and his wife was played by Rachel. All three of the performers, had GREAT stage voices as well as expressions. They were very into the performance.
