The goal of the Junior Kindergarten (Jr. K.) program is to provide a faith-based Catholic pre-kindergarten program that prepares children to successfully transition into Kindergarten at Our Lady of the Pillar School. 

Jr. K. students will participate in school activities, and will experience many Pillar traditions, such as school families, Blessing of Pets, Mission Festival, school uniforms and special dress-down days.

Materials and classroom activities will encourage children to interact, respond and problem solve.  The teachers will help the children develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.  In addition, Jr. K. will be a safe environment where students will have many “hands on” experiences that will help develop a positive self-concept and will meet the needs of each individual child.  The Missouri Pre-K literacy Standards will be used as framework of expectations for the Jr. K. at Our Lady of the Pillar School
