Hammer, Cher, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dog, Jewl, and Puff Daddy were very popular.
Madonna was known for many of her songs like "I Want You". and "Beautiful Stranger". Madonna was most poplar in 1998 where she had her comback record "Ray of Light" which became platnium four times and won three Grammy Awards including Best Pop Album and Best Dance Recording. Madonna was a role model to many teenaged girls and was loved by many teenaged boys in the 90s. On October 14, 1996 Madonna's first child was born in Los Angeles. Madonna is now married to Guy Ritchie.
Michael Jackson had many hit songs like 'You Are Not Alone". In 1996 he divorced his wife Lisa Presley. He was known for his great dance moves and unique voice.
Brittney Spears released her debut album in 1999. Her most famous song was "Baby One More Time". Her recording career started with this song and it went straight to the top on the Hot 100 chart. She was mainly loved by teens who loved pop music.
Bands
There were also many bands that were popular like the Backstreet Boys, Foo Fighters ,Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, Spice Girls, The Smashing Pumpkins, Hootie and the Blowfish, Oasis, Counting Crows,Blink-182, Nine Inch Nails, No Doubt, Aerosmith, Beatles. Although not all of these bands were new, like the Beatles were old but all these bands were popular old and new.
The Backstreet Boys were loved by every teenaged girl in the 90s. There most famous songs were "As Long As You Love Me" and "Quit Playin' Games (With My Heart)".
Hootie and the Blowfish were a favorite of many people in the late 90s. There songs were a big hit. There most popular song was "Only Wanna Be With You" . They were named the best new artist at the Grammy Awards in 1996
