The "Rachel" haircut

This haircut was based off of Jennifer Aniston who played Rachel on the TV show Friends. Many girls had this kind of trendy haircut

These kind of windpants were light colored and made noise everytime you moved. There were button down windpants and also had white or black stripes down the side

These shirts had smiley faces or line drawn faces that said things like "I don't know" or "Whatever"

People wore baggy blue jeans and the baggier they were the better. Both boys and girls wore these kind of pants

These clips became popular in 1998 and 1999. They were plastic clips shaped like a butterfly and sometimes they had glitter on them. the typical way of wearing them was to part your hair in several different places abd then to clip each section of harii so that the butterflies would be all in a row on top of your head,

These shoes were worn with tapered pants, and scrunch socks. The most popular brand was Keds

Cargo Pants

These pants had somewhat of a wide leg, with large pockets that parted way down the leg. They came in the colors blue, black, white, or beige

Cole-Haan Loafers

These loafers were geniune leather that costed about ninty dollars.

Doc Martens

Doc Martens were boots and sandles that costed about one hundred dollars. Almost every teen in the 90s had these shoes

Double Shirt

Double shirts was a name for when people wore two shirts; one regular long sleeve shirt and one button up shirt. the button up shirt would be unbuttoned.

 

Fanny Packs

Fanny Packs are purses that buckle at the waist and could carry about as much as a small purse could.

 

Flannel Shirts

Flannel shirts were worn over concert or plain T-shirts

Fishing Hats

These floppy cotton hats that came in the colors kaki,tan, and cream were extremly popular

Flare Jeans

These jeans were very similar to bell bottoms but with less flare

Flower Pot Skirt

This was the term for when a skirt was worn over trousers

GX jeans

These jeans were worn by almost all girls and started the flare trend

Guess was a type of jeans and shirts that came in all kinds of colors,even bright colors.

Hawaiian print was on necklaces, shirts, shoes, shorts, and pants. Hawaiian print consisted of flowers of hawaiian sayings

These loafers were very popular in the 90s

Mini Ball-Chain Necklaces

These necklaces had one charm on them. The charm was usually a flower, a peace sign, or a smiley face. People wore two or three at a time

Nike Sportswear

Nike was the most popular sportswear in the 90s and almost everyone had a pair of nike shoes or sweatsuits

Piercings

Many people in the 90s got their tounge, belly button,ears, and eyebrows pierced.

 

Sam and Libby Flats

These were ballerina like flat dress shoes that came in many different colors and sometimes came with bows

Spiral Perms

The famous singer Mirah Cary made these perms famous. The were long with spirals

Tigh-High Stockings

These were worn over the knee. They were worn with very short skirts. These stockings were introduced in 1995. The two main colors worn were white and black.

Tube Socks

They came calf high and didn't hace a seam where the heal went. They were worn with sneakers and shorts.

Uncle Jack Dress

This dress was inspired by Ginger Spice. It was a very short dress in the design of a British Union Jack flag.

White Hairband

Girls wore these elastic white hairbands near the front of the hair
