1990:World Wide Wed was created by Tim Berners-Lee. The world wide web is a system of interlinked, hypertext documents accessed by the internet. Berners-Lee was an Englishman and Belgian Robert Cailliau who worked at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. Berners-Lee played a major role in guiding the developement of the pages the web is composed of.

1993: Global Positioning System was created by the Department of Defense. GNSS is a satellite system that calculates the position by measuring the distance between itself and three or more satellites. It then measures the time delay between transmission and the reception of each of the GPS radios. The radio signal gives the speed and the location of the satellite.
