Presidents:
Richard Nixon:
Nixon was born Jan. 9, 1913 in Yorba Linda, California. He was the thirty-seventh president of the U.S. and his reign held from Jan. 20, 1969 to Aug. 9, 1974. Nixon was almost impeached, but he resigned because of the Watergate Scandal. It turned out that burglaries were going on at the Watergate Hotel. The burglars turned out to be connected to Nixon’s re-election campaign fundraising committee. Although all this happened during the Nixon era he was praised for ending American Involvement in the War of Vietnam. Nixon also improved diplomatic relations with China.

Gerald Ford:
Gerald Ford was the thirty-eighth president, and fourtieth vice president. Upon succession to the presidency, Ford became the only person to hold that office without having been elected either President or Vice President. Prior to 1973, he served for over eight years as the Republican Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. At home, the economy suffered from inflation and recession. Ford received strong criticism for granting a pardon to President Richard Nixon for his role in the Watergate Scandal . In 1976, Ford narrowly defeated Ronald Reagan for the Republican nomination, but ultimately lost the general election to Democrat Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter:
He was the thirty-ninth president from 1977 to 1981. He established a national energy policy, removed price controls from domestic petroleum production, and advocated for less American reliance on foreign oil sources. Carter lost the 1980 presidential election to ronald Reagan . After leaving office, Carter founded the Carter Center to promote global health, democracy and human rights.
