Optical Art which is more commonly known as op art, was developed in the mid-60s by a group of English painters. This style combined color and abstract patterns to create movement and optical illusions. Below is an example of Optical Art.
Minimalism is a form of minimum art. The look is clean, bare, and simple. In the sixties it replaced the vulgarity and vibrance of pop art with cold, mechanical forms. Panes of glass on a gallery floor and metal shelves attached to a wall constituted one artist’s work. Below the reconstructed pavillion was inspired by minimalism.
