Since there wasn't much spending income, people had to look for inexpensive things, such as going to the movies. Hollywood kept producing movie after movie to entertain the crowds. People who went to go watch movies to let them escape everyday troubles that clouded their minds.
Many people wanted to copy everything a movie star would do. They copied their haristyles, outfits, and more. People swooned over Clark Gable, Bette Davis, and Geta Garbo. Since Clark Gable took off his shirt in a movie, and only his bare chest was showing, men soon wanted to copy this trend.

The theater flourished during the thirties. Broadway Shows became popular. Such as, Green Pastures, The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Children's Hour, and Moss Hart.
Walt Disney produced the first full-length animated movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Most people fell in love with the curly headed Shirley Temple, and loved watching her dance.
