FADS
The 1920's was a time of celebration. Because of this, there were many fads. |
Dances Dancing was very popular in the 20's. People danced the Charleston, Fox-trot, and shimmy. Dance marathons were very popular, and were usually part of a person's weekend activities. The longest dance marathon ever recorded was three weeks of dancing, with ten minute breaks every five hours. |

Radio The radio was another fad of the 1920's. People listened to the radio every day to listen to music, such as jazz, sports, and live events. "The King of Jazz," Louis Armstrong, was a very popular jazz musician, and many people tuned in to the radio to listen to him. |

Flappers The term flapper refers to the "new breed" of women, who flaunted their disapproval of what was considered "decent" behavior. These young women wore bobbed hair, short skirts, and makeup. They also drank hard liquor and smoked cigarettes. |
